The long awaited BVA/KC CM/SM is ready to be launched.
Unfortunately the Cavalier clubs are objecting to the publication of the MRI scanning results (all other BVA/KC schemes are published on the KC website and printed on pedigree certificates)
There will now be a further consultation to resolve the issue and further delay in the implentation of the scheme.
Clearly Cavalier breeders' representatives are still not willing to put the interests of the dogs first.

The Blue Cross Animal Welfare Charity has awarded Dr Clare Rusbridge the J A Wright Memorial Award for her outstanding contribution to the welfare of companion animals 2011.
For her work with the CKCS Society with regard to Syringomyelia.
This is fitting tribute and recognition of Dr Rusbridge's dedication to finding a solution to the Chiari-like malformation/Syringomyelia problem in Cavaliers and other dog breeds.
Congratulations, Clare, from Cavalier owners all over the world.
An exciting new charity has been set up to help to save the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed. It will raise funds for research, give advice to Cavalier owners and prospective owners, and help to raise awareness of canine genetic welfare issues.
In the longer term Cavalier Matters aims to extend its scope to other breeds and campaigning for change in the pedigree dog breeding industry.
