Lord Henley
We also met with Lord Henley, the DEFRA Minister responsible for Companion Animal Welfare and were accompanied by Harvey Locke, President of the British Veterinary Association (BVA).
Lord Henley said that DEFRA would take a keen interest in the recommendations of the Dog Breeding Advisory Council and was sympathetic to our concerns.
In December 2010 APGAW held a meeting on Dog Breeding (and Dangerous Dogs) at which Professor Crispin outlined her priorities for the Council. A further meeting will take place in 12 months to see the progress that has been made.
